vander_meer-chasseTeresa Vander Meer-Chassé (b. 1992) is a proud member of the White River First Nation of Beaver Creek (Yukon/Alaska). She graduated from the University of Victoria in 2014 with a Bachelor’s in Cultural Anthropology and a Minor in Indigenous Studies. Since then Vander Meer-Chassé has dedicated her time to working in arts and culture. She attended MuseumNext (Dublin) this past May and will participate in the next conference (New York City) this November. Vander Meer-Chassé was awarded a 2016 YVR Art Foundation Youth Scholarship to create an artwork for the Vancouver Airport. This fall she will be an artist-in-residence in Sointula on Malcom Island, British Columbia. Her artistic practice is both traditional and contemporary Upper Tanana art.
